Dr. Nasser Al Tamimi Joins Dubai United FC Board of Directors, Bringing Over Two Decades of International Sports Leadership

Dubai United FC has announced the appointment of Dr. Nasser Al Tamimi as a new member of the club’s Board of Directors, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership structure and benefit from distinguished Emirati expertise in the sports sector.

Dr. Al Tamimi is a prominent Emirati sports executive with more than two decades of experience across national and international sports organisations and federations. Throughout his career, he has held several senior leadership positions and played an active role in the development and administration of sport in the UAE and internationally.

Since 2007, Dr. Al Tamimi has served as General Treasurer of the International Judo Federation (IJF). He is also a Board Member of the UAE National Olympic Committee, where he serves as Chairman of the Technical Affairs Committee, bringing extensive experience in sports governance, institutional management and international sporting affairs.

Throughout his career, Dr. Al Tamimi has held a number of key responsibilities within UAE sport, including roles with the UAE Judo Federation, as well as overseeing national teams and UAE sporting delegations participating in Olympic, world, continental and Arab competitions.

He has also contributed to the organisation and delivery of several major international sporting events hosted in the UAE, while playing an active role in initiatives aimed at developing the country’s sports sector and strengthening its presence within international sporting organisations.

Complementing his extensive professional experience, Dr. Al Tamimi holds a Master’s degree in Sports Law, providing him with specialised knowledge of the administrative, regulatory and legal frameworks that shape the sports industry.

In recognition of his contributions to sport and his role in strengthening international sporting relations, Dr. Al Tamimi was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays by the Emperor of Japan, one of the most prestigious international honours he has received throughout his career.
